2017 Fantasy Bargain Basement – RB

We’re back for the next edition of our Fantasy Football bargain basement for 2017. Below, you’ll find the best RB options if you decide to invest in another position early, or your leaguemates are keeping all the good options.

Joe Mixon – Cincinnati Bengals

I know what you’re thinking. How is Mixon a bargain? Well, because of his negative name ID, and the fact that the Bengals are the most “meh” team in football, people are sleeping on a guy who has top 5 potential. Right now, his ADP is in the mid-4th round. Considering he was seen as potentially the most talented back in the draft, he could put up first round numbers. Mid-4th has seen guys like Jeremy Langford get taken, so why not go for the upside?

Ameer Abdullah – Detroit Lions

Abdullah showed so much promise early in his career before injuries derailed fantasy owners’ hopes. Now, fully healthy and part of a high-octane offense, Abdullah is being hyped by coaches to have a big year in 2017. He’s got all the physical tools, and appears to be poised to take on a large role in the offense. As long as he gets his fumbling under control, snagging him in the mid-6th round where his ADP is should help recoup some value if you go QB/WR early.

Samaje Perine – Washington Redskins

Perine is an intriguing case. He’s a big bruiser who looks the part and has college production to match. Was Robert Kelley an anomaly? Will Matt Jones work his way back into the mix? This uncertainty has led Perine to drop into the double digit rounds. He very well could start off in a limited role, but that role should come with lots of TD potential. He could be a starter by week 6, or he could split time with Kelley, but either way he’ll be worth way more than his ADP suggests.

Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans

For the time being, Henry is sitting behind Demarco Murray. However, Murray’s injury concerns are through the roof, and Henry has all the tools necessary to be a top 10 RB. He is falling into the later rounds, and could fall right into your lap as you ride his production to a championship. A healthy Mariota plus a better OL equals a potent running game in Tennessee. Once Derrick Henry gets regular playing time, there will be no stopping him. Draft and stash to start, and keep your eyes on Murray.
