Week 6 Preview & Picks

Five weeks down, twelve more to go. So far this season I have as many wins as the Giants. Will that change this week? Lets find out…

Thursday Night Football

4-1 Phi Eagles @ 4-1 Car Panthers (-3)

A rare great match-up for a Thursday Night game. Two first place teams about to go toe-to-toe on a short week. Cam Newton has looked like MVP Cam the last few weeks, and last week Carson Wentz may have played his best game as a pro. Both teams are riding high, so who falls off the wagon this week?

Panthers 31 – Eagles 27

Sunday Afternoon – 1PM Kick-Offs

0-5 SF 49ers @ 2-2 Was Redskins (-11)

The Kyle Shanahan revenge game is here. Jay Gruden and company already dispatched the LA Rams and Shaun McVay earlier this season. Can they make it two for two against Kirk Cousins former OC’s? Or will Brian Hoyer have the last laugh?

Skins 38 – 49ers 27

2-2 Mia Dolphins @ 3-1 Atl Falcons (-13)

The Dolphins are a mess. They just fired their line coach for well, too many lines. And on top of that Jay Cutler failed to throw for 100 yards last week. Luckily they still won thanks to Marcus Mariota missing the game. Bad news Miami, Matt Ryan’s playing.

Falcons 27 – Dolphins 13

1-4 Chi Bears @ 3-2 Bal Ravens (-6.5)

The Bears are starting a rookie QB against a solid Ravens D. The Ravens are starting Joe Flacco. This game may be brutal to watch.

Ravens 25 – Bears 11

0-5 Cle Browns @ 2-3 Hou Texans (-9.5)

The Browns have already benched this years QB of the future and its only week six. Kevin Hogan gets the start against a good, but banged up Houston D. Deshaun Watson is probably happy that the Browns passed on him twice in this years draft, but im still sure he’s ready to rub it in a little.

Texans 36 – Browns 17

4-1 GB Packers (-3) @ 3-2 Min Vikings

The Sam Bradford we all grew to know and love in St. Louis is back!!! That’s bad news for the Vikes. Bradford’s balky knee may keep him out of this one, but even if he played I’d still put money on Aaron Rodgers in this one.

Pack 34 – Vikings 22

3-2 Det Lions @ 2-2 NO Saints (-4.5)

The excitement for this games match up of gunslingers is tempered by the injury concerns of Matt Stafford. Stafford is tough as nails, but I have a feeling Drew Brees will have enough home cooking to come out on top.

Saints 37 – Lions 31

3-2 NE Patriots (-9.5) @ 3-2 NY Jets

If you would have told me that five weeks into the season the Pats and Jets would have the same record my first thought was that Tom Brady and Bill Belicheck had died. The Jets are playing way over their heads and ruining possible draft position.

Pats 29 – Jets 21

Sunday Afternoon – 4:05 Kick-Offs

2-2 TB Bucs (-1.5) @ 2-3 Arz Cards

The Bucs have been up and down so far this season, and the Cards are coming off of a complete annihilation at the hands of the Eagles last week. Will Adrian Peterson make a difference in Arizona? Will Jamies Winston ever stop over throwing his receivers? Will I Pick this game correctly?

Cards 28 – Bucs 27

3-2 LA Rams @ 3-2 Jax Jaguars (-2.5)

These two teams are near mirror images of each other. Strong running games, good D, shaky QB play. The Jags D should be just that much stronger. The Jags win this one if they limit the number of plays involving Blake Bortles.

Jags 26 – Rams 19

Sunday Afternoon – 4:25 Primetime Kick-Offs

3-2 Pit Steelers @ 5-0 KC Chiefs (-4)

The Steelers are a mess. They just got mauled by the Jaguars last week, while the Chiefs are rolling as the leagues last undefeated team. Can they go to 6 & 0?

Chiefs 34 – Steelers 28

1-4 LA Chargers @ 2-3 Oak Raiders (No Line Yet)

This game should be decided by the health of Derek Carr. If he plays the Raiders should win this one. If he doesn’t, well then all bets are off. No pun intended.

Raiders 27 – Chargers 24

Sunday Night Football

0-5 NY Giants @ 3-1 Den Broncos(-11.5)

This game may become a bloodbath. Denver already boasts one of the leagues best Pass D’s, and the Giants have no healthy pass-catchers. Eli might not finish this one upright.

Broncos 41 – Giants 3

Monday Night Football

2-3 Ind Colts @ 2-3 Ten Titans (No Line Yet)

Andrew Luck wont play, Marcus Mariota might. If both miss out we have a primetime showdown between Matt Cassel and Jacoby Brissett. I’m sure that would do wonders for the NFL’s ratings. I’m banking on Marcus giving it a go.

Titans 27 – Colts 14
