Week 8 is here, I can’t believe the season is almost halfway gone. Will another star succumb to injury? Will there be more upsets? Or will things stay status quo? Time to find out…
Thursday Night Football – 8:25 PM Kick
4-2 Mia Dolphins @ 3-4 Bal Ravens (-3)
The Dolphins will be giving Matt Moore the keys to the car on a short week. Moore looked good finishing out the game for Jay Cutler last week, Joe Flacco hasn’t looked good since he won that Super Bowl.
Dolphins 27 – Ravens 19
Sunday Morning Futbol – 9:30 AM Kick (London)
5-2 Min Vikings (-9.5) @ 0-7 Cle Browns
The NFL must hate the fans in London. The Browns are still winless on American Soil, can they change their luck on the other side of the pond? Not bloody likely.
Vikings 37 – Browns 13
Sunday Afternoon – 1:00 PM Kicks
3-4 Oak Raiders @ 4-2 Buf Bills (-2.5)
The Raiders won a thriller on Thursday Night. Will that be the catalyst they need to get the season back on track? Can the Bills keep up their impressive start? My moneys on Oakland.
Raiders 28 – Bills 27
2-5 Ind Colts @ 2-4 Cin Bengals (-10.5)
The Colts are really, really bad without Andrew Luck. The Bengals are only a little bad with Andy Dalton. Advantage Bengals.
Bengals 31 – Colts 18
3-4 LA Chargers @ 5-2 NE Patriots (-7)
The defending champs have a tough match-up this week against an improving Chargers team. The Chargers are led by a strong pass-rush and Phillip Rivers unquenchable will to win, and repopulate the earth. Sadly I see the Patriots pulling this one out, Rivers should try that some time.
Patriots 31 – Chargers 24
3-4 Chi Bears @ 4-2 NO Saints (-9)
The Bears D has been on point the last few weeks, helping the team succeed in spite of rookie Mitch Trubinsky’s growing pains. Those growing pains being he is currently not good at football. The Saints are riding a four game win-streak into this one. I’m riding a cool Brees all the way to the bank this week.
Saints 31 – Bears 17
3-3 Atl Falcons (-4.5) @ 3-4 NY Jets
The Falcons are still suffering from the dreaded Super Bowl hangover. The Jets are flying high, having already won three games this season. I have a feeling Atlanta gets itself back on track in this one.
Falcons 28 – Jets 20
0-7 SF 49ers @ 6-1 Phi Eagles (-13)
The 49ers broke up the monotony of their season by getting blown out last week instead of losing a close game at the end. That new streak should continue.
Eagles 34 – 49ers 13
4-3 Car Panthers @ 2-4 TB Bucs (-2)
Cam Newton stormed out of a press conference this week. That usually means he’s gonna light the Bucs up. I’m gonna be conservative, I say the Panthers win and Cam does his post-game in a romper.
Panthers 22 – Bucs 20
Sunday Afternoon – 4:05 PM Kick
3-3 Hou Texans @ 4-2 Sea Seahawks (-5.5)
The Texans and rookie wunderkind DeShaun Watson go toe-to-toe with Russell Wilson and the Legion of Boom. The big question is still, can Seattle keep Wilson upright? No, no they can’t.
Texans 24 – Seahawks 20
Sunday Afternoon Primetime – 4:25 PM Kick
3-3 Dal Cowboys (-2) @ 3-3 Was Redskins
Both teams have a plethora of injuries up and down their rosters. Can’t say I’m not a bit biased on this one. Going with the home team in this one.
Redskins 36 – Cowboys 33
Sunday Night Football – 8:30 PM Kick
5-2 Pit Steelers (-2.5) @ 3-3 Det Lions
The Lions are coming off the bye week and hosting a Steelers team with some serious chemistry issues in the locker room. That said, the Steelers should tame the Lions easily in this one.
Steelers 31 – Lions 24
Monday Night Football – 8:30 PM Kick
3-3 Den Broncos @ 5-2 KC Chiefs (-7)
The Chiefs lost a heartbreaker against the Raiders last week, while the Broncos are still the only team in the league that has lost to the Giants. Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, & Travis Kelce might be too much for Denver’s vaunted D to handle. Can Denver answer back with Trevor Simeon? Yes, only if that answer is 60 Minutes of crying.
Chiefs 27 – Broncos 13
