Norwell to Giants A “Done Deal,” Interested in Patrick Robinson

We’ve made it – NFL free agency is right around the corner; eight days to be exact. The combine has given teams a lot of thought on how they want to build their franchises for the coming years, thus opening up the free agency discussions. For the most part, free agency can dictate the draft, and many players have already mapped out where they want to land – including Andrew Norwell.

Andrew Norwell will be entering his fourth season in the NFL after going undrafted in 2014. Former Panthers (and now Giants) GM David Gettleman signed him to the team and gave him an opportunity. It seems like Norwell is ready to return the favor.

Norwell is rated the best guard in the free agency class, and didn’t allow a single sack or hit on a quarterback last year, according to Pro Football Focus. The New York Giants will be looking to bolster their front five after a few seasons of mediocrity up front.

The Giants are also interested in cornerback Patrick Robinson who was a part of the Super Bowl winning Eagles this past season. With Dominique Rogers-Cromartie prepared to move to Free Safety to compete with Darian Thompson, they’ll need some reinforcements at corner to pair with star Janoris Jenkins.

New York has been said to have interest in retaining Ross Cockrell, whom the team traded for earlier in the season. Former first-round pick Eli Apple‘s future is also uncertain with the team.

The New York Giants should be primed for an exciting free agency and draft. Adding top tier talent will look to put the Giants right back at the top of the NFC, and if these rumors are any indication, they plan on doing just that.
