Where Do Football Players Pee During A Game

Have you ever found yourself watching an NFL game and wondering where exactly these players go to relieve themselves? This question is one asked by many NFL fans every year and the answer may surprise you and no, it is not diapers like these.

The vast majority of times players go pee during a football game is by doing so on the sidelines. Since the possession of the football can change at any second these players aren’t exactly able to run into the stadium for a bathroom break.

Below we are going to break down all the ways in which players attempt to relieve themselves during a football game.

The Water Cup

One of the most common ways in which a player will attempt to relieve himself is by using a water cup. A water cup or Gatorade cup has been one of the go-to ways to pee during an NFL game for years.

This method is usually paired up with a teammate or staff member shielding your body from the fans and cameras. This way you have some semblance of privacy while you go to the washroom.

The Towel Shield

Another way in which NFL players go pee during football games is by using towels. In this situation, several teammates or team staff will surround the player looking to go to the washroom.

These staff members will hold up towels that are typically used for players to wipe away sweat during the game. These towels will act as a sort of curtain to allow the player a chance to pee without being spotted.

This method takes a little more effort as you will have to recruit several staff members to help you with it.

Peeing Your Pants

Believe it or not, peeing your pants on the football field is another one of the most common ways in which NFL players go pee during a game. The reasoning behind this is quite simple it is the easiest way to do it.

Whether it is on the field, in the huddle, or on the sideline NFL players have been known to pee their pants while playing for years.

There have actually been many players that have come out on the record saying they pee’d their pants during every NFL game they ever played.

Some players even went as far to say they would do it intentionally on cold rainy games in order to warm themselves up a bit. All we can say is that we feel bad for the equipment workers.

Rushing Off To The Locker Room

One of the surprisingly less frequent ways of going to the washroom during an NFL game is heading to the locker room. Despite all these different methods of peeing during a game the players do in fact have the option to run off to the locker room.

Though running off to the locker room does present some issues. First off, you may miss some plays. Regardless of how fast you go the trip to the locker room and back will take a couple of minutes.

This means there is always a chance something like a turnover happens resulting in your team needing you.

This is the main reason why players tend to go to the washroom on the field as opposed to going to the locker room.

Additionally, fans and TV broadcasters usually notice when a player runs off to the washroom. This often leaves fans wondering why the player is leaving the field and whether or not an injury has occurred.

To avoid this attention players may choose one of the options previously laid out on our list.

Do NFL players wear diapers?

Many NFL fans are aware that football players aren’t able to take bathroom breaks during a game. This leaves them wondering if any NFL players have gone as far as to wear diapers while they play.

The truth is NFL players do not wear diapers while they play.

Despite many players relieving themselves on the field wearing diapers is not something most NFL players want to do.

First off wearing a diaper under your equipment is going to be incredibly uncomfortable. This would likely affect a player’s mobility potentially slowing them down on the field.

Secondly, most football players do not want to be seen wearing a diaper in an NFL locker room. It is safe to say NFL locker rooms are pretty intimidating places and wearing a diaper is going to result in players becoming the butt of the joke.

On top of that NFL players are primarily going to pee themselves on the football field and not poo their pants.

Football will simply hold it in if they have to go number two while on the field. This makes a diaper relatively non-important to wear.

    • lt’s very logical to have a port a John on each sideline. would be more practical than running inside, losing time, and more dignified than holding towels cover up nonsense, peeing into cups, etc. lf not a current practice, what was hard to think this solution up? unreal .
