How Many Superbowls Has Rob Gronkowski Won?

Rob Gronkowski is the most decorated tight end in NFL history yet many fans are not sure how many super bowls he has won throughout his career.

In his football career, Rob Gronkowski has won four Super Bowls. Three of his Super Bowl rings were won with the New England Patriots while one was won with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady was Gronkowski’s quarterback for all four of his Super Bowl wins.

Super Bowl XLIX (2015 super Bowl)

Super Bowl XLIX was the first Super Bowl win of Gronkowski’s career. Gronk’s 2013 season ended with an ACL tear meaning he started off this season below one hundred per cent.

Gronk started the season slow but ultimately finished with 82 receptions for 1,124 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns.

The Patriots went 12-4 and had a bye for the wild card round of the playoffs. In the postseason Gronkowski had 108 yards and a touchdown in the divisional round against the Ravens.

He then had 28 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC championship.

In the Superbowl, Gronk had 68 yards and a touchdown as the Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24. This game was won by Malcom Butler’s goal-line interception of Russel Wilson’s pass.

Super Bowl LI (2017 Super Bowl)

Rob Gronkowski’s second super bowl win came in the 2016 NFL season. Throughout that season Gronk dealt with a large number of injuries.

It started with Hamstring issues and ultimately ended when Gronk took a shot to the back against the New York Jets in week twelve. Gronkowski was placed on the injured reserve and was deemed out for the season.

He finished the year with five hundred and forty yards and three touchdowns. Despite the injury to Gronk, the Patriots went 14-2 in the regular season.

They advanced through the playoffs until they met the Atlanta Falcons in the Superbowl. This Superbowl resulted in the infamous 28-3 comeback that earned Gronkowski his second Super Bowl ring.

Super Bowl LIII (2019 Super Bowl)

Only two years later the Patriots and Gronkowski were able to earn another Super Bowl championship.

This year Gronkowski was much healthier missing only a few games throughout the season. Though this year Gronkowski’s statistics were below their usual level.

Gronk ended the year with six hundred eighty receiving yards and three touchdowns.

The Patriots themselves finished the year 13-3 earning them a bye for the wild card round of the playoffs.

Gronkowski had a solid playoff run which was highlighted by his 87 receiving yards in the Superbowl. The Super Bowl game itself only had one touchdown which was set up by a long Gronkowski catch bringing the ball to the two yard line.

Super Bowl LV (2021 Super Bowl)

Super Bowl LV marked Gronkowski’s last Super Bowl win and his first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gronkowski had retired after his last championship win with the Patriots due to injury and mental health.

After a year of retirement, Gronk came back to the game to reunite with his former quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.

Gronk was incredibly healthy while playing for Tampa Bay starting all sixteen games, the last time Gronk had done that was in 2011.

Gronkowski ended the regular season with six hundred and twenty-three receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.

He continued to make great plays throughout the playoffs including a massive 29-yard catch in the NFC championship game to set up his team for an important field goal.

In Super Bowl LV Gronkowski caught two touchdown passes making him and tom Brady the all-time leaders in playoff touchdowns between a quarterback and receiver.

This marked Rob Gronkowski’s fourth super bowl ring and Tom Brady’s seventh.
