Brett Favre is widely regarded as one the best football players to play the quarterback position. Though despite this many fans are not sure how many times this gunslinging quarterback was able to win bring home football’s greatest prize.

Brett Favre won one Super Bowl in his career. Favre’s only ring would come from Superbowl XXXI (1997) as the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. Favre would make one more Super Bowl appearance in his career ultimately losing to the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII (1998).

Super Bowl XXXI Season

The 1996 season was one of the best seasons in Green Bay Packer history. Throughout the regular season, the Green Bay Packers Dominated their opponents offensively and defensively.

The defense set the record for the fewest amount of touchdowns scored against in a sixteen-game season. Throughout the entire year, the defense only allowed nineteen touchdowns or 1.18 touchdowns per game.

The Offense was led by Favre who won his second consecutive MVP award. Throughout the regular season, the offense led the NFL in points scored while Favre threw 36 total touchdown passes.

This Green Bay Packers team was the first to score the most points while allowing the least since the 1972 dolphins.

The Packers ended the season with a record-setting 13-3 win to loss record. This earned them a bye for the first round of the playoffs. This meant the Packers only had to win two playoff games to get to the Superbowl.

Playing both games at home the packers easily beat the San Fransico 49ers and the Carolina Panthers to move on to the Superbowl.

In the Superbowl, Brett Favre led the offense with two long touchdown passes of 51 and 84 yards.

Favre also ran for a touchdown himself while another was scored on a 99-yard kick return. This offensive scoring allowed the Packers to handily beat the New England Patriots by a score of 35-21.

After three games the score differential was 100-48 for the packers against their opponents in the playoffs.

On top of winning the won Super Bowl Favre had another successful season which nearly earned him another trophy. Favre’s best chance at another Super Bowl came the season after his first in 1998.

Super Bowl XXXII Season

The Super Bowl XXXII season was another great year for Favre and the packers. The packers went 13-3 in the regular season again earning themselves a bye for the first round of the playoffs.

The Packers continued dominating in the postseason winning both their games and advancing to the Super Bowl. Entering the Super Bowl the Packers were eleven-point favourites over the Denver Broncos.

What followed was one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. Favre turned the ball over twice and the Packers defense was run all over by Terrell Davis.

The Broncos Running back rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns carrying the Broncos to a 31-24 victory.

This was Favre’s final Super Bowl appearance despite playing being a quality starter for another ten years following this game.
